Symposium: Solitude and Exuberance: A Tribute to Gabriel García Márquez

Have you read a novel by Gabriel García Márquez in one of your classes or in your free time? Are you interested in magical realism? Have you always wanted to do research or give a presentation on a topic related to Latin American culture or world literature? This is your opportunity! We at the CSU Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures are organizing an entire day of activities about the life and work of Gabriel García Marquéz (for April 17, 2015) and we are looking for undergraduate and graduate presenters! You can give a talk of 10 minutes (on the basis of a paper you wrote) or a multimedia presentation. Different formats welcome! You can present in English or Spanish.

Interested? Then we need from you:

-a title of your presentations

-a summary of your idea (around 100 words)

-two sentences about yourself (major, minor, year of study, interests)

Symposium: Solitude and Exuberance: A Tribute to Gabriel García Márquez

The Department of Foreign Languages & Literatures is organizing a symposium on Gabriel García Márquez and we are looking for CSU faculty interested in giving a 20-minute instructional workshop on a topic related to Gabriel García Márquez (magical realism, world literature, the Latin American boom, his reception in the US or in Europe, etc). We are open to suggestions for workshop topics.

If interested, please send a title and a summary of your workshop idea (around 100-250 words) and a short bio to ggmsymposium@gmail.com
